Utah's Canyon Country Tourism Campaigns
Overview
I worked with Utah's Canyon Country in San Juan County for seven years as their agency of record. I created a different tourism marketing campaign for every year and not only wrote the campaigns, but fulfilled the creative execution as well. Every campaign was designed to not only increase tourism to the area, but to protect and improve the lives of those who live there.

Make It Monumental Campaign
As Monument Valley has become the icon of the American west, it felt appropriate to title a campaign after it. Monument Valley has been featured in almost every western film for the last hundred years. The strategy was to draft off of the well-known brand of the landmark to feature other lesser-known places in the area.
Vintage Travel T-Shirt Designs
As a way to build the brand and increase revenue for the tourism department, I created a set of vintage style t-shirts. I noticed the popularity of retro tourism designs had surged in the last couple of years and I would be remiss if such an iconic place didn't designs of their own.
Icons of the West Campaign
This campaign was designed to use the sentiment of a "national duty" to visit America's most iconic tourism destinations. Other countries may have thousands of years of history and culture, but this campaign operates under the belief that people will come from all over the world to visit America's national parks.
Listen to Your Mother Campagin
This campaign plays off of common phrases that a mom would say to their kids, but in this scenario the mom is Mother Nature. The area is so iconic for its natural landmarks that it seemed appropriate that it would be the home of Mother Nature. The campaign messaging allowed us to feature many aspects like preserving the area and night sky parks
San Juan Strong Campaign
During covid19, San Juan County created an initiative to keep the area safe but still encourage others to go outside. I created these assets that were to go in stores and restaurants to remind people and residents to stay safe.
